About Girlguiding Cheshire Border

On February 22nd 2009 there were 4339 members of Girlguiding Cheshire Border. We have 673 Rainbow Guides, 1769 Brownies, 1082 Guides and 248 Rangers and Young Leaders. We have 613 volunteering adults (some are non members) who are involved in running our Units and help to organise the activities in the County. They are helped by 201 Young Leaders who are training to become future leaders. For full details of our 2009 census, CLICK HERE.

Many volunteers, besides running their units, are members of the various committees within the County helping it to function in a democratic way.

All units and Guiders are members of Districts and Divisions with their teams of Commissioners, Administrators and Advisers supported by various county committees:

Marketing and Communications. This very active committee includes representatives from every Division. The committee deals with all aspects of public relations. Members are responsible for the website, the county calendar, county directory, publishing and printing many documents, flyers and our monthly newsletter called Border Lines.

The Adult Support Committee is the group who provide trainings to help us run our units as well helping us in developing our own talents. They are helped by the Links committee.

The Guiding Development Team actively supports a wide range of activities for both girls and Guiders to take up the exciting opportunities that guiding offers.

Registrations - It is vital that the county is kept up to date with all your appointments and positions. Any changes need to be notified immediately.

Safe From Harm affects us all. We do our best to ensure that all activities take place in a safe environment.

All the above Personnel and Committees advise the County Executive, chaired by the County Commissioner. The final decisions are made by the County Executive.

The county has a President and some Vice Presidents, many of whom no longer run units but support us in many ways, particularly by promoting us amongst their many other organisations and groups.
