The Going Away Team (GAT) are here to help you gain a qualification to enable you to take your Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Senior Section girls away on a residential experience whether a Sleepover, Holiday or Camp.

When girls or their Guiders get together, talk inevitably turns to past pleasurable experiences – and memories of camps and holidays often top this list. Residential activities are fun and are consistently rated amongst the best things about guiding.
Holidays – however long or short give us a chance to learn to live together, to give and take, to experience new challenges while developing skills such as teamwork, leadership and independent living.

Places to go: Egerton Hall and Alsager Guide Hall. Buxton District Rangers own a cottage which is available for hire by guiding members and their families and units.

Cheshire Border has a Camp/Holiday Fund which makes money available to girls who would otherwise not be able to go away with their unit. The application form needs to be completed and approved before the holiday takes place.

If you are thinking of taking a qualification, register your interest with your District Commissioner & Division GAT representative. You will need to obtain the relevant publications from those listed below.

Forms
When you come to do your residential, all permission forms once completed and signed by the Guider in Charge and your District Commissioner must be sent to the GAT Administrator with all the relevant stamped addressed envelopes.
