What is Guides all about?
Well, think of… fun, friends, excitement, going away, helping people out, travel, new experiences, having a say and making a difference and you'll get the idea.

Who are Guides?
The Guide section is for girls from 10 years of age.
What do Guides do?
Guides have fun with groups of friends, called patrols. They choose and plan many of their own activities. Every Guide is encouraged to try new activities.
Community action is an important part of the programme - helping others and the environment.

What do Guides wear?
Guides wear a practical uniform of a mix and match range with a variety of tops.
The Guide Promise
Guides make a Promise at a special ceremony devised by the patrol. The Promise is at the centre of all that Guides do:
To love my God,
To serve the Queen and my country,
To help other people
And to keep the Guide Law.

- Guides try new and adventurous activities.
- Guides have residential opportunities at sleepovers, camps and holidays. Many are lucky enough to travel abroad with guiding.
- Community action is an important part of the programme - helping others or the environment, both locally, nationally and internationally.
- Guides can work towards interest badges and annual challenge badges.
- Once you have been a Guide for a while, you can help at Rainbows or Brownies and you can work towards the Baden-Powell Challenge Award - this is the highest award a Guide can earn. Guides need to register with the County Adviser when they begin this award. A copy of the form for your Guider to download is available on the forms page, please ask her for one.
When a Guide has completed most of the challenges for her Baden-Powell Challenge Award, she takes part in an adventure, along with other Guides from Cheshire Border. These are organised 2 or 3 times a year by the County Adviser for Guides.
