Moreton Division and Districts
Moreton Division covers the towns and surrounding areas of Alsager, Congleton, Holmes Chapel and Sandbach. It is headed by 2 Division Commissioners, 4 District Commissioners and a team of dedicated supporters. There are over 1,000 members in the Division.
The Division was named after the ancient estate belonging to Little Moreton Hall, which is situated in the middle of our Division.
Little Moreton Hall is a manor house, surrounded by a moat, and is owned by the National Trust.
It is an icon of English Tudor domestic architecture and is one of Britain's finest timber-framed manor houses.
Little has changed after 500 years; it is renowned for its slightly crooked appearance.
The Division consists of four Districts Alsager, Congleton Cloud, Congleton West and Sandbach and has the following units: 13 Rainbow units, 23 Brownie units, 10 Guide units and 3 Senior Section units. There are also 3 Trefoil Guilds and 2 Friends of Guiding groups.
Each of the units in the Division is run by Volunteers who receive training and support for their units. They all work very hard to provide good quality guiding throughout the Division for our young and older members alike.
Each District is led by a District Commissioner, who manages the day to day running of the District. Some of our District Commissioners are supported by a District Administrator who takes care of the paperwork associated with the District.
Alsager District has two Rainbow units, four Brownie Packs and one Guide unit. There is also a Friends of Guiding Group and a Trefoil Guild.
Congleton Cloud District has four Rainbow units, five Brownie Packs, three Guide units and a Senior Section unit.
Congleton West District has three Rainbow units, six Brownie Packs, three Guide units and a Senior Section unit.
Sandbach District has four Rainbow units, eight Brownie Packs, three Guide units and a Senior Section unit.
There are Friends of Guiding groups in Alsager and Sandbach and Trefoil Guilds in Alsager, Congleton and Sandbach.
The Division has a management team of both uniformed and non-uniformed members who take care of the day-to-day running of the Division. The Commissioners meet regularly to pass on information to the Guiders in their Districts and to plan events with them.
Some of the events that are organised vary from staging Pantomimes, Gang Shows, Talent Contests, Quizzes and Market Stalls to Fund Raising, Parties, Outings, Camps and Pack Holidays at home and abroad. We also share joint events with the local Scouts.
