Alsager Rotary was very pleased to present Teresa Longhurst with a Paul Harris fellowship back on 19th August 2019. This is the first time Alsager Rotary has made the award to a person from outside of the club. It is an award which our club makes to recognise an individual’s or organisation’s service to our community and Rotary.
Teresa has been a dedicated member of girl guiding for over 40 years and freely givers her time to support everything that they do. She also actively helps Alsager Rotary taking part in our static 24 hour tandem ride and summer barbecue to name two events.
Many congratulations Teresa!
Girlguiding Middlewood Division Commissioner went to Sutton St James Group camp at Barnswood, where she visited Brownies and Guides having fun at their group camp and also presented long service awards to leaders – the sun shone and a great adventure was had by all.
Over the August bank holiday weekend, 3 Goostrey leaders took 8 girls from across Jodrell and Congleton to Wellies and Wristbands at Waddow Hall, Clitheroe. It was our second visit and a very different experience in the sunshine! As ever the volume and generosity of the volunteers was overwhelming, and the range of activities for the girls to enjoy was spectacular. We did buggy building, caving and nightline (Waddow activities) as well as lots of pampering, inflatable fun, crafts and science. The music acts were great, and so welcoming to the girls who had queued up for the meet & greet. All food and entertainment was provided. Definitely a trip we would recommend for any leader thinking of working towards their Going Away Licence (you can get units 1-4).
Trefoil just getting back into swing of things after the summer break . Crafters had a productive afternoon making boxes. Strollers explored Wybunbury moss in glorious sunshine and several members were away last week on the Region trip to the Isle of Man. In total 58 North West members joined island members for a busy week of sightseeing and evening events.
