St Albans Rainbows support the Seashell Trust

Queens 90th birthday party

Macclesfield St Albans Rainbows have raised over £100 for The Seashell Trust who provide a creative, happy and secure environment for children and adults with complex and severe learning disabilities through holding a party for the Queens 90th birthday.

The girls decided to support The Seashell Trust because they share the patronage of The Queen.

The group’s Leader, Sally Clipsham, said: “The girls aged 5 and 6 have spent the term learning about The Queen, her family and her role in guiding. Being part of guiding we raise money for a charity each year and it seemed only appropriate to choose a charity that the Queen is patron of and we set ourselves a target of £90 (for her 90 years).

Our party started with the National Anthem and the Rainbows had a Princess Quiz to identify the Princesses with the first letter of her name, a raffle and backwards bingo.

The girls invited their families to join us for an ‘afternoon tea’ and we exceeded our target raising over £100.
