News from Mossley Rainbows – July 2012

Over the last few months 1st Mossley Rainbows have been very busy having lots of fun at Mossley Village Hall but also in the local area.

The Rainbows have been following the Cumbria Challenge: Coast, Lake and Fell. They have made a sheep collage, experimented with natural dyes and made paper boats to sail in the stream – some of the boats even floated!

On our outings to The Cloud, Astbury Mere and Biddulph Country Park (where we tested out our boats) we discovered that the girls love mud, collecting sticks/leaves/pine cones, returning home with ‘treasures’ and muddy boots! Amazingly the sun has shone on us each time.

This year is Rainbow’s 25th Birthday and on Saturday 19th May we took 10 of our Rainbows to join hundreds of others at the Cheshire Border 25th Birthday Celebration Party held at Eaton Bank School. A great ‘fairy themed’ day was had by all – learning new songs, doing lots of crafts and meeting other Rainbows from the District. We all went home with the Birthday badge, tired but happy.

The term is coming to a close now and our Rainbows have worked hard, grown in confidence and made new friends – we are now looking forward to all the fun and games with old and new friends in September – have a great summer!
