Safe Space

Every Leader working on our Leadership Qualification needs to complete a Safe Space training. By December 2020 everyone needs to have the correct level of A Safe Space training for their role recorded on GO.

There are four levels of training and all volunteers will need to do Level 1 unless you have completed a safe space training in the three years. The previous safe space training is equivalent to level 1 and 2 of the present training.

You can get your safeguarding training off to a good start by completing the e-learning A Safe Space, Level 1 – An Introduction which is at www.girlguiding.org.uk/making-guiding-happen/learning-and-development/a-safe-space-training/ To find out which levels you need to complete for your role in guiding use the link above and then click “check the A Safe Space training required for your role”.

Future trainings:

Level 2 on Tuesday 23rd October 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start. Please make sure you have completed the Level 1 e-learning module for Safe Space before then and bring your certificate, which you print off after completing the module, with you.

Level 3 on Thursday 22nd November with a 6.30pm start. In addition, you need to complete the level 3 e-learning module for Safe Space prior to the training. Again, please bring your certificates for levels 1, 2 and 3 with you.

Both will be held at The Chappell Centre, Leek Road, Congleton, CW12 3NX. Drinks will be provided before the trainings begin.

To book a place, there is no charge for these trainings, please e-mail Dorothy Dentith on safespace@girlguidingcheshireborder.org.uk stating which training you wish to attend and include your membership number. There is a maximum of 25 places on each evening
